The DANA of October 29, 2024 not only left behind a desolate landscape in Valencia, but also deeply affected numerous small companies in the signage sector. Workshops and businesses that had been the livelihood of families and generating employment in the region for years were devastated in a matter of hours, buried under tons of mud and water.
In the face of this tragedy, at Signolia we have joined as collaborators in the initiative " Sign-makers in Valencia ", promoted by Aserluz. Our contribution has focused on the development of the campaign website and the configuration of the fundraising platform, with the aim of facilitating fundraising to support the affected sign companies, helping them to rebuild their businesses, recover jobs and restore hope to the affected families.
More than 25 signage companies in municipalities such as Paiporta, Algemesí and Picanya they have suffered catastrophic losses. Many of them have lost not only their work tools, but also the entire facilities where they operated, being forced to completely stop their activity. This not only directly affects the owners of these businesses, but also the families and employees who depended on them.
In total, 84 municipalities have been declared in emergency due to the DANA, and many of the affected companies belong to the signage sector, a key area in the economic and social activity of the region.
The campaign “ Sign-makers in Valencia ” was created with the purpose of bringing together all the actors in the graphic sector in Spain – from suppliers to the self-employed – to raise funds and directly support the affected companies. Organized by Aserluz , this solidarity initiative aims to ensure that 100% of the money raised, minus the minimum management costs, reaches the affected companies directly so that they can restart their activities.
The commitment of Aserluz It is total: intense work has been done on the collection of data on the affected companies and their situation. The association ensures that every euro raised is delivered directly and transparently.
